01What is a "skill"?
A folder of instructions an AI assistant reads before it works on a certain kind of task. This one covers design: websites, tools, documents and decks. It's mostly text (a main
SKILL.md plus deeper guides) and a couple of small helper scripts.02Is it free?
Yes, free with credit. The kit's content is licensed CC BY 4.0: if you share or adapt the kit itself, credit "Kreations Design Kit by Karsten Locano" with a link. The helper scripts are MIT.
03Can I use it for client work?
Yes. The credit rule is about sharing or adapting the kit itself, not the sites and files you make with it. (This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice.)
04Which apps does it work in?
Claude (the apps and Claude Code), ChatGPT (with Skills, or a Project), Codex, Open WebUI, LM Studio and similar local apps. See Install for each one.
05Does it work with small local models?
Yes, with the lite file: a condensed version for models with little context. Results are simpler than with a strong model, but still have a point of view. See the Dawn Patrol example.
06Will everything I make look the same?
No, by design. There's no house look: each project gets its own palette, type and motion from its subject and your words. For colour it shortlists three palettes and names the two it didn't use.
07Does it use my brand?
Always, first. Your request comes before everything, then your existing brand (logo, colours, fonts, current site), and only then the kit's own taste.
08Why does it ask me questions?
When there's no brand, a short round of up to five questions beats a wrong guess. Say "just build it" to skip them. It will build and tell you what it assumed.
09Aren't AI models already good at design?
Newer models look much better on their own, and the examples show it. The bigger difference now is behaviour. In a blind test of 25 everyday prompts (same model, one run each), the kit's build was picked 17 times and plain Claude's 3 times; 5 were too close to call. Without the kit, Claude made up names, towns, prices, phone numbers or hours in 15 of the 25. With the kit: none, because it asks first. It also keeps pages from scrolling sideways on phones and makes the file you actually asked for.
10Will it make things up?
No. It doesn't invent prices, hours, reviews, results or client names. Missing details are marked as placeholders in drafts, and a final version asks you for them.
11Can I add my own taste?
Yes. Copy
personal.example.md to personal.md next to SKILL.md and write your preferences in it. They apply when there's no client brand.12Does it work with animations turned off?
Yes. The kit requires every build to stay fully clickable with reduced motion on, a common Windows and Mac setting. Movement becomes instant, but nothing is taken away.
13Does this website use AI?
No. This site is plain static pages. The prompt builder runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
14How do I update?
Download the newest release and replace the old file or folder. The changelog lists what changed.
